Visit Belfast Celebrate Best Tourist Information Centre Win at Prestigious Ceremony

At 31st Annual Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards that took place at the Slieve Donard Hotel on 13 October, Visit Belfast picked up the award for Best Tourist Information Centre 2023

At 31st Annual Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards that took place at the Slieve Donard Hotel on 13 October, Visit Belfast picked up the award for Best Tourist Information Centre 2023.

This years ceremony was hosted by Blue Lights star Martin McCann. Best known for his role in the current BBC hit series, ‘Blue Lights’, Belfast born McCann has also worked alongside directors such as Steven Spielberg, Terrence Malik and Yann Demange.

Voted for by the public, Visit Belfast was awarded Best Tourist Information Centre 2023.

Speaking on Visit Belfast’s win, MaryJo McCanny, Director of Visitor Servicing at Visit Belfast, said :

 “Opened a decade ago in December this year, our £1.8 million Belfast Welcome Centre stands apart as one of the UK and Ireland’s leading, strikingly innovative and most interactive information supports tourists and visitors to the city and on behalf of our dedicated team, I’m delighted to accept this important award which recognises the consistent high-level service we provide.

A ‘one-stop-shop’ for visitors interested in finding out more about city events, buying tickets or booking holiday accommodation, the centre tells the story of Belfast through people, places, experiences and event, incorporating digital maps which explore each part of the city and self-service screens listing hundreds of attractions across Northern Ireland as well as a gift shop stocked with unique, Belfast-themed products.

“Our focus is on providing a friendly, efficient, and effective visitor information service is a key pillar within our broader tourism strategy, helping to strengthening partnerships and encouraging repeat visits. This important accolade serves to illustrate the invaluable contribution made by the Visitor Servicing Team to tourism in Belfast.”
