Travel Counsellor, Alex Maxwell-Clarke was announced as the winner of the Alaska, Arctic & Antarctica prize

Travel Counsellor, Alex Maxwell-Clarke was announced as the winner of the Alaska, Arctic & Antarctica prize, sponsored by the Port of Seattle. This was offered as part of Cruise Lines International Association Cruise week, for the quality of her social media post on cruising to Alaska.

The prize includes two nights at a four-star hotel in Seattle and two City Passes for entry to five key attractions in the city. This includes the Space Needle and Seattle Aquarium. She will have the choice of visiting some of the other great attractions the city has to offer including the Argosy Cruises Harbour Tour, the Museum of Pop Culture known as “MoPOP”, the Woodland Park Zoo and the phenomenal glass artworks indoors and outdoors at Chihuly Garden and Glass.

Alex won her prize on the merit of her social media post, in which she posted breath-taking images of cruising to Alaska, unique wilderness shots, the whales spotted during her cruise with Holland America and for demonstrating the passion it ignited within her for cruising.

Visiting Seattle, home of Alaska cruising, is on Alex’s bucket list, she said,

“I am delighted to have won this prize as I did not get a chance to see Seattle when I cruised to Alaska, and I cannot wait to see the city and its attractions”

Based in Newcastle, Alex was presented with her prize by Gary Fletcher of Cellet Marketing and Public Relations Limited, who are the Port of Seattle representatives in the UK and Ireland. She was attending a travel event in Newcastle, adjacent to the venue was a Starbucks, and the opportunity was too good to miss, Seattle is where Starbucks was born, and Alex will be able to visit their first ever outlet in the heart of the city.
