Sandals Resorts International Announce Opening of 18th Resort

The near 50-acre resort is the first Sandals Resort in St. Vincent and The Grenadines (SVG) and will feature a total of 301 rooms and suites

St. Vincent and The Grenadines’ (SVG)Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture, Hon. Carlos James has welcomed the news of the official opening of Sandals Resort St. Vincent and the Grenadines to the destination.

Sandals Resorts International has announced March 27, 2024, as the official opening date of the brand’s eighteenth resort in the Caribbean at Buccament Bay.

The near 50-acre resort is the first Sandals Resort in St. Vincent and The Grenadines (SVG) and will feature a total of 301 rooms and suites, including two-bedroom butler villas and overwater two-story villas.

Minister James said,

“St. Vincent and The Grenadines (SVG), known for its high-end exclusive luxury offerings on the Grenadine islands of Mustique and Canouan, is now opening its main island, St. Vincent, as a major tourism hub.”

St. Vincent and The Grenadines (SVG) is a multi-island destination with 32 islands and cays providing the ultimate luxury offerings of Mustique, Mandarin Oriental, and Soho House in Canouan among a string of boutique hotels and resorts such as Young Island Resort, Petit St. Vincent Resort and Palm Island Resort.

“We welcome Sandals to our list of ultra luxury and exclusive offerings, and this will add significant value to our tourism product,” Minister James said.

According to the St. Vincent and The Grenadines’ (SVG) tourism minister, the destination is happy to open its main island, St. Vincent, to major tourism development including a new Marriot Resort, Holiday Inn Express, and Sandals.

“These are strategic partnerships in our tourism development and our destination is perfectly matched for Sandals,” Minister James said.
