Ponant, the French cruise line, have announced that Danny Giles has been hired as their new business development manager covering the north, Scotland and Ireland.
With experience working for Riviera Travel, Silversea, and Hurtigruten, Giles will take up the newly-created role in a trio led by Ponant’s international sales director for the UK and EMEA, Stephen Winter.
Giles will also work alongside Vladislav Saveliev, sales manager for the south and the Midlands, and Nabil Maillard, sales director for the UK, Ireland and developing markets.
Set to step into the role on February 21, Giles will be joining the company as Ponant sees a 25% increase in trade bookings for 2022, when compared to 2019 figures.
Ponant sales director, Olivier Narcy commented that “Numerous indicators make us confident of a rapid exit from the crisis. Our growth targets are very ambitious.
Adding that, “Our current volumes provide a glimpse of a very robust sales dynamic that we will support with an unprecedented level of investment in marketing and communications.”
