Northern Ireland was promoted to around 200 tour operators and travel agents in Spain – at a recent travel trade roadshow visiting the cities of A Coruña, Madrid, Bilbao and Barcelona. The roadshow was organised jointly by Tourism Ireland and VisitBritain.
Five tourism companies from Northern Ireland – including Finn Lough, Game of Thrones Studio Tour, Mussenden Sea Salt, The Harrison Chambers of Distinction and Titanic Belfast – took part in the roadshow, which involved a workshop event in each city. They met and did business with the Spanish travel professionals, to encourage them to extend their Northern Ireland offering, or to include Northern Ireland for the first time, in their programmes for 2024 and beyond.
The cities of A Coruña, Madrid, Bilbao and Barcelona were selected for the roadshow, as they are key gateways to the island of Ireland for Spanish holidaymakers. The roadshow provided a valuable opportunity for Tourism Ireland and its partners to remind the Spanish travel professionals all about the many great things to see and do here, and all that is new and exciting.
