Have Your Say on The Latest Industry Standards for Travel Services

A Review of National Occupational Standards for Travel Services is taking place on Wednesday October 23, 2019 at the Belfast Met from 2-4pm

People 1st International is asking experienced travel professionals and training providers to help set the latest standards for travel services.

They are inviting representatives to a workshop event where they will update attendees on the proposed changes from feedback attained so far, with an opportunity for you to share your thoughts on any further changes required to ensure they remain fully in line with industry needs.

What are National Occupational Standards? National Occupational Standards (NOS) are benchmarks of good practice. They show what a member of staff in our industry (in any given job role) needs to know and demonstrate to be deemed ‘competent’ at their job.

They are particularly important as they form the foundation for vocational qualifications used across the industry and Apprenticeships. It is essential that the standards are up to date, and reflect current and emerging practices. What happens at the workshop? At the workshop you will have the opportunity to join like-minded travel professionals to network, share views and input into the development of the standards so they reflect changing industry practices and influence future skills development.

This workshop event is designed for HR managers and professionals working in a travel role (eg travel agent, travel consultant) and experienced providers of training in the travel industry. The results will play an essential role in ensuring the National Occupational Standards remain employer-led and reflect up to date industry practices.
