Two Week Quarantine for Travellers to Malta

New travellers bound for Malta will be required to enter a 14-day quarantine period

Maltese prime minister Dr Robert Abela said in a statement that the measures would take effect immediatley.

“All new passengers (including British nationals) arriving in Malta by air or by sea from all countries are obliged to undertake a 14-day continuous period of mandatory quarantine during their stay on Malta, Gozo or Comino, subject to the strict provisions of the law. Self-quarantine for travellers means that they cannot leave their hotel room, cruise ship or self-catering accommodation during their time on the islands,” Dr Abela said.

The country said if the self-quarantine was broken travellers would face a €1,000 fine per breach; the decision will remain in place until further notice.
