Two Indian airlines have become the first to introduce gender-neutral options for travellers flying onboard.

Vistara and AirAsia India, both Tata airlines, have in produced the option of ‘Mx’ within their booking system for travellers who identify as non binary.

The change was introduced after a petition, started by “YesWeExist’ group, gained thousands of signatures calling for a change to airlines booking options.

Despite both Vistara and Airasia India becoming the first airlines to introduce the term, it is believed other airlines will follow in due course.
