Translink Advise Passengers of Engineering Work on Belfast To Dublin Line

Translink is advising passengers there will be changes to Enterprise cross border train services on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August

Translink is advising passengers there will be changes to Enterprise cross border train services on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August due to engineering works taking place between Malahide and Drogheda.

Translink’s Hilton Parr, NI Railways Head of Customer Services said: “These planned works being carried out by Irish Rail were timed to coincide with the Republic of Ireland’s August Bank Holiday, when passenger numbers are traditionally lower.

“There are now a number of sporting fixtures taking place in Dublin and we would typically offer additional capacity for these, however, this will not be possible this weekend due to these works. We understand this may be disappointing for some of our passengers but look forward to being able to resume any special services and additional capacity for future events.

“Trains from Belfast Lanyon Place will operate to and from Drogheda, with bus substitutions between Drogheda and Connolly Station in Dublin. Certain services will also stop additionally at Lurgan and Lisburn to accommodate passengers for local train services”.

Hilton concluded: “We advise passengers to allow extra time for their journey and to check their journey in advance as bus substitutions may operate at different times to train schedules. Passenger information is available on our website: www.translink.co.uk or via our Journey Planner”.
