A shake-up to the current Traffic Light for Travel System is expected to be announced by the end of the week.
The shake-up will see a new simplified two-tier system which combines the current Green and Amber lists into one single tier, while the Red List would remain the same.
PCR tests are also expected to be replaced with cheaper lateral flow tests.
The changes are due to be rolled out ahead of the UK’s October half-term break.
Northern Ireland is expected to follow the UK.
