Thailands New 39 Millionth Visitor Record

Thailand hit another tourism record when they welcomed its 39 millionth visitor of 2019!

Anna Pavlovskaya from Russia was given gifts and travel vouchers on her arrival as ‘Thailand’s Luckiest Visitor’ at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport over the weekend as she stepped foot in the country as Thailands 39 millionth visitor of 2019.

Thai tourism minister Pipat Ratchakitprakan anticipates the year-end visitor total to be 39.8 million, based on the current average of 140,000 daily arrivals to the country – representing a 4% tourism increase, despite this year’s currency surge.

Tourism-related spending is expected to increase to THB1.96 trillion (US$65 billion).

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has set modest target increases in foreign visitors of 2.5% for 2020 to 40.8 million.
