Thailand has extended the quarantine period back to 14 days as its tried to tackle the current wave of Covid cases.

From May 1, all new arrivals must spend a full two weeks in quarantine and in-restaurant dining is banned in Bangkok and several other provinces.

Additionally there are limits on the number of small gatherings in the hardest hit areas of Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Chonburi, Chiang Mai, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan.

People may not gather in groups of more than 20.

Under current plans vaccinated foreign tourists could come to Phuket quarantine-free from July 1, although that is still dependent on the local population being at least 70% vaccinated.
