There’s no denying that service stations are a considerable factor when it comes to planning a road trip, especially when on a budget. For those with childrens, comfortable stops to keep the family comfortable and entertained can make or break a holiday. But which service stations are the best for families who want to save money?
New research from GAP insurance provider, ALA, has analysed service stations around the UK to assess which one is the most family friendly. Scoring each station on factors such as play areas, shops, Google ratings, food options, free parking and hotel prices, data experts from ALA can now reveal the most family friendly service station in the UK.
Topping the list of best family friendly service stations is Beaconsfield, followed by Leigh Delamere and Tebay North.
Top 10 Family Friendly Service Stations in the UK
Out of the 40 service stations analysed, Beaconsfield was found to be a family’s dream. With a great play area for little ones, as well as a lakeside walk for leg-stretching, it’s no wonder that this M40 stop-off point took the top spot. Beaconsfield also scored highly for its many cafe options, hours of free parking and high Google rating of 4.2.
The data also showed that the service stations varied greatly in terms of hotel stays. Woodwall was the most affordable hotel at just £32.99 per night, however this station didn’t make the list of top family friendly stations overall. The most affordable hotel that did make the list was Leigh Delamere; this was the sixth cheapest at £49.99 and second on the family friendly list.
