Palma Tourist Board has confirmed that six hotels will reopen in Playa de Palma as a result of Easter holiday demand

Palma Tourist Board has confirmed that six hotels will reopen in Playa de Palma as a result of Easter holiday demand, meaning that the municipality of Palma (Palma y Playa de Palma) will have a total of 36 hotels open by April. Despite Easter in the Balearic Islands being off the cards for Brits, Germany has lifted its travel warning advice for the archipelago.

Manager of Palma Tourist Board Pedro Homar, comments: “this is a significant indicator of the confidence in Mallorca as a holiday destination and strengthens our positivity for a summer bounce back and a much-needed tourism boost”.

During the winter period (December to February 2020), 11 hotels remained open in Playa de Palma. Over the next days, more hotels in Playa de Palma will be ready to welcome guests. Allsun Pil-lari Playa is due to open on March 17. From March 26, Hipotel Playa de Palma Palace, Iberostar Playa de Palma, Grupotel Acapulco and 7* Riu Playa Park will also open their doors, followed by THB el Cid on April 6.

Palma city reported that 19 urban hotels, representing 27% of Palma’s hotel inventory, continued to stay open in part due to an introduction of longer-stay packages to accommodate ‘workations’. Hoteliers in Mallorca will continue to operate with COVID protocols in order to offer the highest guarantees of safety to guests and staff.
