Ryanair has resigned as a member of the UK Aviation Council with immediate effect

Ryanair has resigned as a member of the UK Aviation Council with immediate effect.

The UK Aviation Could held its first meeting in February 2023 where Ryanair called on the council to implement practical changes.

Such changes included, improvements to the NATS staffing in order to reduce ATC Delays, to boost border control staffing, and to lobby for airspace reform in Europe.

However, Ryanair have highlighted how no action has been taken to make these changes.

Ryanair’s CEO Michael O’Leary, stated that ‘We joined the UK Aviation Council and assured it would be used as a ‘delivery body’ to improve the resilience of UK aviation. ”

“Sadly, this has proved to be an empty promise.”

O’Leary went on to add that, “The Council has become a talking shop for Baroness Vere, Government bureaucrats and the CAA to waffle on about reform while delivering none.”
