In a statement to the Commons Home Affairs Committee, Passport Office Chief Thomas Greig commented onĀ  the delay of passport processing.

At the end of June, it was estimated that over 500,000 passports were still in line to be processed.

Throughout the meeting with the Common Home Affairs Committee, Greig highlighted that processing 55,000 passports is taking roughly ten weeks, instead of the previous three week time-frame.

Greig further commented that these delays would likely continue until later this year.
