Ireland’s Largest Hotel Group Opens Luxurious Hotel in Central Manchester

Ireland’s largest hotel group, Dalata Hotel Group Plc continued its expansion with the opening of Manchester’s newest hotel

Today (19 January) Ireland’s largest hotel group, Dalata Hotel Group Plc continued its expansion with the opening of Manchester’s newest hotel, the £45million Clayton Hotel Manchester City Centre.

Dalata, which operates four hotels in Northern Ireland, the Maldron Hotel Derry, Maldron Hotel Belfast International Airport, Maldron Hotel Belfast City and Clayton Hotel Belfast, has major plans to expand its portfolio of hotels across Ireland the UK.

The new 329, bedroom hotel, in the heart of Manchester city centre has created 87 new jobs in the area.

The opening comes as Dalata, which also owns Maldron Hotels, confirms that by the end of February this year, they will have two Clayton Manchester Hotels (Airport and City Centre), a Maldron Hotel in Manchester city centre (opening Feb 2022) and with construction due to get underway this year for another Maldron Hotel in Manchester city centre.  When it opens, this will bring the number of Dalata hotel rooms in Manchester to 1,159 across the four hotels.

Dermot Crowley, Chief Executive of the Dalata Hotel Group said the hotel openings were further evidence of the company’s confidence in Manchester, the North-West region and indeed the UK market.

He said:

“This is the first of six new hotels that we are opening in the first half of this year. Four of these hotels are in the UK. We have four further properties in our UK hotel pipeline, showing our continued commitment to our UK expansion strategy. We continue to look for further opportunities in the large cities around the UK”
