Holland America Line has completed installation for SpaceX’s Starlink cruise ship Wi-Fi on its Pinnacle Class ship Koningsdam, sailing in Alaska.
Starlink offers Low Earth Orbit satellite technology for faster and more reliable Wi-Fi.
HAL says this is crucial for internet access on ships in Alaska sue to weather interference and the landscape.
The cruise lines President Gus Antorcha said: “For guests, maintaining the connectivity they are accustomed to at home is an important part of the cruise experience.”
Further ships will add the technology later this year.
