Flight operations were temporarily suspended at London Gatwick on Sunday after a drone was sighted flying near the airport.
All Gatwick flights were halted for nearly one hour while an investigation was carried out.
Twelve inbound Gatwick flights were diverted to other airports.
Speaking about the incident, a spokesperson for the airport said: “Passenger safety is the absolute priority with operations suspended temporarily while investigations into the sighting of a suspected drone took place.”
