Finnair and oneworld’s top tier customers have more space and comfort when relaxing before their flight in the airline’s exclusive Platinum Wing which as reopened.
It reopens following a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic as travel restrictions around the world continue to ease and just in time for the busy summer season. The lounge complements Finnair’s recently renewed long-haul experience.

“We know our customers love the Platinum Wing, so we are very excited to re-open and welcome back guests with great personal service and exciting new dining options.
“The sleek design, taking cues from the best of Nordic furniture design tradition and Nordic nature, is used throughout the lounge and is followed through onboard on newly designed long-haul Business Class, brand new Premium Economy cabin and refreshed Economy seats.”
Comfortable sofas and cosy armchairs create a homely living room atmosphere, enabling customers to view the aircraft apron and enjoy the extensive natural sunlight from the lounge’s sweeping windows.
The new a la carte menu and dining service centres around comfort food elevated with a Nordic twist, while accompanying sides and snacks allow for a tailored dining experience.
The launch June menu includes:
- Beef and reindeer burger on brioche bun with lingonberry mayonnaise, blue cheese, lettuce, red onion, and wild mushrooms
- Grilled pike perch fillet on chive and potato purée with fennel sauce and fresh vegetables
- Warm goat cheese salad with summer sprouts, pear, cherry tomato, pickled red onion, roasted seeds and strawberry balsamic dressing
- Creamy chicken and vegetable pappardelle pasta with paprika, leek, pickled chantarelle mushrooms and crispy seeds
Special dietary needs are catered for such as gluten free and vegan – for example the burger will also be available with gluten free bun and plat-based ‘beyond burger’ on request.
Dessert options include salted caramel chocolate cake with raspberries or Cloudberry Panna Cotta. A selection of local Finnish cheeses and petit fours are also available.
The bar features an extensive selection including vintage champagne, fine wines, beers, spirits, featured summer cocktails, mocktails and barista coffee.
Featured cocktails for the summer include Blueberry frozen margarita, negroni, mojitos, Kyrö Napue gin & tonic and Finnair’s new signature “Northern Blush”, which is also served inflight. Alongside featured cocktails, bar staff can make any number classics on request.
Those preferring not to drink alcohol are also well covered, with a variety of mocktails such as the rosemary-blueberry smash, honeyed ginger apple and grapefruit paloma. A variety of non-alcoholic beers and wines are also available.
The Platinum Wing lounge is located in Helsinki Airport’s non-Schengen zone, making it convenient for customers heading to London or Finnair’s Far East and American destinations. The lounge is for exclusive use by Finnair Plus Platinum Lumo and Platinum members, as well as oneworld Emerald cardholders.
