England Scraps Self Isolation and Free Covid Testing

Boris Johnston made the annoucement after meetings were pushed back due to a disagreement over the end of free covid testing

Individuals in England will no longer be required by law to self isolate after testing positive for covid-19.

From Thursday (24 February), the plan for living with covid will be introduced in England as the legal requirement for self isolation is removed.

In addition, vaccinated persons that come into contact with a positive case will not be asked to test for seven days and contact tracing will end.

Self isolation for non vaccinated individuals will also end.

From 1st April, free covid testing will also be made priority for those most vulnerable to the virus.

This is subject to change at the discretion of the government.
