Could Ryanair Crew Strikes be on the Cards this Summer?

Ryanair could action strikes across Europe this summer after the company walked out of talks with two Spanish Unions.

Reports have suggested the low budget airline walked out of the talks after the two Spanish Unions hinted at striking.
In turn, and partnered with 5 other workers’ organisations across Europe, both Spanish Unions SITCPLA and USO are preparing to take action against Ryanair on a Europe-wide base if the carrier does not return to talks.
Ryanair has expressed concern at the mentioned strike as it places “unrealistic demands… at a time when covid recovery is still fragile”.

In a letter from Ryanair’s director, Darrell Hughes, to Bloomberg news, he said that the talks had in terms made “no progress” and that the proposals set out by the unions had included “up to 167% pay increases”.
