This ship became the 72nd to pass through the port of Belfast in what Belfast Harbour described as a ‘successful Cruise Season”.

Fred Olsen Cruise lines took to social media to also commend the work Belfast Harbour has done throughout the year in regards to safe cruising and finished with “it’s not goodbye, it’s see you soon…” after releasing news that the Borealis will be back in port on the 12th February 2022. Exciting news for cruise goers here in Belfast as the company will also have ships setting sail from the local port from ‘late spring next year”.

Recent figures released revealed that from June to November, around 55,000 passengers have passed through the port of Belfast.

speaking to Belfast Telegraph, Michael Robinson, Belfast Harbour’s Port Director said:
“After such a challenging time for the tourism industry we have been delighted to welcome 72 vessels to Belfast this season, with cruise lines including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, MSC and Saga visiting our shores.”

“In recent weeks we were also pleased to mark a significant milestone for cruise tourism in Northern Ireland, as we celebrated the 1,000th cruise call to Belfast, with the arrival of MS Queen Elizabeth.”
