Anne-Marie Trevelyan Replaces Shapps As Transport Secretary

Following the appointment of Liz Truss as Prime Minister , Grant Shapps has been replaced as transport secretary by Anne-Marie Trevelyan

Following the appointment of Liz Truss as Prime Minister , Grant Shapps has been replaced as transport secretary by Anne-Marie Trevelyan.

Trevelyan was formerly Secretary of State for international trade and president of the board of trade.

Taking to twitter to discuss his role as Transport secretary, Shapps stated “It has been a privilege to serve as transport secretary; a job I loved.”

Shapps commented that, “Now I look forward to being a strong, independent voice on the backbenches, developing policies that will further the Conservative cause and the interests of my constituents in Welwyn Hatfield.”

Speaking on her appointment as Transport Secretary, Trevelyan commented “I’m thrilled to have been appointed Transport Sec. Transport is crucial to our lives – bringing people together, creating jobs & connecting the UK with the world. Looking forward to getting to work on the many challenges & opportunities transport brings.’
