All Nippon Airways Will Trial IATA’s New Travel Pass

Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) has become the latest carrier to confirm it will trial IATA’s new Travel Pass

Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) has confirmed that it will trial IATA’s new Travel Pass.

The app allows passengers to certify and manage various Covid travel requirements, including pre-departure testing and vaccination status.

ANA said the trial would contribute to its efforts to find digital solutions to the challenges posed by restarting travel as the world seeks to exit the ongoing Covid crisis.

Yuji Hirako, ANA President and Chief Executive, who also sits on IATA’s board of governors, said: “With constant changes to international travel requirements adding to the complexity of travel, Iata Travel Pass enables passengers to easily verify whether they meet the Covid-19 testing requirements of their destination and share their test results with airlines and authorities in a secure way.

“Through our trial, we hope to contribute to the development of the digital solution, which aims to make the travel experience more seamless, secure, and contactless.”

ANA’s commitments comes after Singapore Airlines this week confirmed it would trial the travel pass on flights to London, starting 15 March. Qatar Airways and Etihad have also committed to exploring how the app could be used to help restart travel safely.
