With the cost of living crisis pinching everyone’s pockets, summer holidays may look a little different this year. Considering the UK experienced it’s hottest summer to date last year, opting for a summer staycation seems like the best way to enjoy a vacation this year without the hefty price tag.
The remittance provider comparison site MoneyTransfers.com decided to take a look at just how many Brits are planning a staycation this summer.
Finds found that 41% of Brits are either unsure of which type of break to take or will opt for a staycation – last year only 12% of Brits felt this way.
Almost 2 in 10 say they will be flying less in 2023 due to anxiety surrounding airport delays.
15% of those still flying abroad will avoid the most affected airports.
1 in 5 believe it’s just too expensive to vacation abroad this year.
More than a quarter of Brits still favour a beach holiday.
Last year saw a 300% rise in staycation bookings.
