The Most ‘TikTok – able’ Spots to Visit in Dubai

With the emergence of popular shortform content platform, TikTok, Dubai has established itself as a leader on another front

Dubai is no stranger to the spotlight. With impressive skylines, extraordinary activities, pristine beaches and clear scintillating seawater, Dubai presents a picture-perfect destination for the camera lens. But with the emergence of popular shortform content platform, TikTok, Dubai has established itself as a leader on another front.

In a recent report by luggage storage company Bounce, it was revealed that Dubai took top spot for the most viewed destinations on TikTok around the world. The TikTok Travel Index 2022 revealed Dubai garnered an incredible 81.8 billion views, significantly surpassing New York City in second place with 59.5 billion and London in third spot with 36.8 billion.

In 2022, TikTok has emerged as one of one of the biggest sources of inspiration for travellers, allowing users to see snippets of beauty spots from all over the world in just a matter of seconds, before going to explore for themselves.

But where exactly are the best places to create and recreate iconic TikToks in Dubai?

Burj Khalifa

A Dubai TikTok list wouldn’t be a Dubai TikTok list without the famous Burj Khalifa. A staggering 2,723 feet in height and a standout amongst an already impressive Dubai city skyline, Burj Khalifa offers an unrivalled backdrop and front row seat to the Dubai Fountain shows that will certainly stop users scrolling.

Explore the 360-degree observation decks at levels 125 and 124 for content you quite literally wouldn’t be able to get elsewhere seeing as the Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world.  Level 125 serves as a tribute to Arab arts and culture, while level 124 offers access to an outdoor terrace.

Sky View Observatory

From views from the Burj Khalifa, to views of the Burj Khalifa.

Located opposite the world’s tallest building is the Sky Views Observatory at the Address Sky View Hotel, which stands at 219.5 meters (720.1 feet) above the malls and parks of downtown Dubai, ensuring you can get the perfect timelapse clips of the bustling atmosphere below as well as the sparkle of the skyline.

Thrill seekers can even opt to soak up the sweeping views of Burj Khalifa while defying gravity on Edge Walk: a hands-free walk on an external ledge outside the tower.

If staying somewhat closer to the ground is more your thing, try the glass Sky Slide. Already a favourite on TikTok, the slide wraps its way around the exterior of the tower and sends you hurtling from the 53rd floor to the 52nd.

Museum of the Future

Opened in the spring, the Museum of the Future explores the future of science, technology, and innovation. Designed by Shaun Killa, the building is like nothing you’ve ever seen before – in the shape of a torus, with the round figure representing the earth and the sky, while the empty centre in the middle represents the unknown.

The 30,000 sqm, seven-storey column-less marvel stands at 77m high, with 1,024 Arabic calligraphy panels on the façade. Featuring a DNA library, capsule shaped elevators, a feature allowing you to ‘become and astronaut for the day’ and an impressive viewing deck amongst many other things – the experience has attracted millions of views on TikTok as people document their experience.

Platinum Heritage Hot Air Balloon Experience

Perfect for creating mouth-watering TikTok content as the sun rises, the Platinum Heritage hot air balloon experience gives guests the perfect landscape to film their view of Dubai as they leisurely float across the skies.

Hot air balloon travellers can admire the incredible duality between Dubai’s glittering cityscape and the natural beauty of the Hajar Mountains in the distance, as well as the opportunity to spot the multitude of gazelles and oryx from up high as they traverse across the dunes. A once in a lifetime opportunity is a once in a lifetime TikTok with this unique mode of transport!

Skydive Dubai

From travelling IN the sky in a majestic hot air balloon to travelling FROM the sky at high speed, if you want some shock-factor on your TikTok feed, look no further than Skydive Dubai. There are two locations for adrenaline enthusiasts to choose from: over the desert’s sandy dunes or the iconic Palm Jumeirah. Whilst you might not be able to film the experience yourself, Skydive Dubai has got this covered for you – ensuring all the highlights of your skydive are captured – perfect for showing TikTok your daredevil side.
