Gleneagles has unveiled a unique series of events and collaborations in celebration of 100 years of legendary Scottish hospitality

Gleneagles has unveiled a unique series of events and collaborations in celebration of 100 years of legendary Scottish hospitality, marking the start of a second century of innovation, glamour and outdoor adventures.

Designed as a Highland palace amid the rolling Ochil Hills in Perthshire and described on opening as the ‘eighth wonder of the world’, The Gleneagles Hotel has served as the glorious playground of the world’s most discerning travellers since 1924. The retreat of choice for the great and the good across the ages, from Sean Connery and Rita Hayworth to Rory McIlroy and Steven Spielberg, Gleneagles remains the ultimate playground for today’s modern traveller.

As the estate celebrates its centenary in 2024, Gleneagles will be unveiling the next chapter in its storied history, building on 100 years of hospitality with a range of experiences and specially crafted products. This will include a limited-edition Gleneagles x Barbour Jacket, a landmark coffee table book in partnership with publisher Rizzoli, a Centenary Afternoon Tea menu offering a taste of 100 years of Scottish cuisine, and an ultimate 100km edition of the estate’s renowned Great Adventure Race. Highlights for guests will include a showstopping One Hundred Year Ball in September and very special Summer Ballet Performance with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

From hosting legendary star-studded parties, welcoming the biggest names in fashion and design, to historic meetings for world leaders, innovators and big thinkers, Gleneagles has remained the place to see and be seen for a century, and continues to shine as brightly as it did in the Roaring Twenties.

An ode to glamour, the hotel’s elegantly restored rooms and suites are accompanied by the country’s finest drinking and dining spots, including Andrew Fairlie (Scotland’s only two Michelin Star restaurant) and the Art Deco inspired American Bar, as well as Scotland’s leading wellness destination; The Spa at Gleneagles. Gleneagles offers an evolving range of world-class country pursuits – from the traditional sports of clay pigeon shooting and salmon fishing to padel and Tomahawk axe throwing – with over 50 expert-led activities, all set against the backdrop of the surrounding heather-clad mountains.

A legendary name in the world of golf, Gleneagles remains the only venue in Europe to have staged professional golf’s two most important team events; The Ryder Cup in 2014 and Solheim Cup in 2019. It also continues to be independently ranked as the UK & Ireland’s No1 Golf Resort and was recently ranked No2 Golf Resort in the World for a fourth consecutive year.
