Stuba Sets the New Standard for Travel Agent Partners by Offering an ‘HCN’

Accommodation specialist, Stuba has announced they are offering a hotel confirmation number (HCN) as standard on all confirmed Stuba bookings within 7 days prior to check-in to protect travel agents brand integrity.

A hotel confirmation number comes directly from the hotel, removing the chance the booking may not have migrated into the hotel’s own system. Stuba believes this will almost eliminate any chances of having any issues in-resort. Stuba reports that historically, they have had such issues on under 1% of their bookings (one of the lowest in the industry), but as part of a trial in providing the HCN, they have seen an 88% drop of in-resort problems (from that 1% base).

Stuba has announced that they will always reconfirm the agent’s booking with the hotel directly, and the HCN will be available on the voucher and in ‘My bookings’ section of their website, 7 days prior to check-in.

Matt Stuart, Chief Commercial Officer said: “Travel agents work so hard to create the perfect customer experience, and at Stuba, we have always gone the extra mile to help facilitate this, but we want to go further. By launching our HCN program, we want to ensure that in-resort guest arrival issues are a thing of the past for travel agents and operators. We are setting a new gold standard in service and security for agents in the UK; it will help agents avoid the dreaded call from a client in-resort with a problem, as well as protect their reputation and brand, which can be far-reaching in this highly connected world.”

The bed bank, who celebrates its 30th birthday this year, has launched a campaign with agents to ensure they understand the value of having HCN for all their hotel bookings, and to encourage them to ask for this regardless of who and where they make their bookings with.
