Sereno Hotels have announced Matteo Gaeta as their new Director of Food and Beverage

Sereno Hotels have announced Matteo Gaeta as their new Director of Food and Beverage who will work across the group’s collection.

Matteo is an accomplished and committed hospitality professional with over 13 years specialist experience spanning large corporate brands, central city hotels, and privately owned luxury properties, with his most recent role at the Rosewood Hotel in Hong Kong, as the Operations Manager. His career within the hospitality industry started in 2009, where he began as a Food and Beverage Operative. It was there that he gained the experience to lead engaged, motivated, and passionate teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences across all levels of the business. This was particularly the case with his success in operations at The Ritz hotel in London. In 2019, Matteo was well positioned to participate in many of Marriott’s exciting new projects. He joined the pre-opening food and beverage team as Task Force Manager for the St. Regis Amman, Jordan and also worked at the pre-opening of Luxury Collection’s hotel Al Messila, Doha, as the Food and Beverage Assistant Director. In addition to a background of exciting projects, he also worked as the Food & Beverage Manager at the Mandarin Oriental in Taipei, Taiwan, as well as at the Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong.

The new role and focus at Sereno Hotels will see Matteo work across multiple operational projects, which will include mentoring and developing the team, positioning and highlighting the hotel as an inspiring choice for industry talent to build a career, and showcasing its’ exceptional workplace culture. Matteo is committed to working with all departments to support the overall success of the hotel and ultimately deliver exceptional guest experiences. He feels privileged to work alongside Chef Lenzi and Chef Mosca in St. Barths and with the entire team of professionals at Sereno Hotels.

When Matteo is not working, he very much embodies his trade, as a passionate traveller who enjoys experiencing 5 star hotels and dining in Michelin-starred restaurants, when opportunity presents itself. He is also an avid cook and wows his wife and guests with his dish repertoire, including the perfect Focaccia and Crêpes Suzette.
