Sad Passing of Crumlin Travel Founder

Crumlin Travel Founder Brian Surgenor has passed away at the age of 87

Northern Ireland Travel News are saddened to learn of the passing of Crumlin Travel Founder Brian Surgenor.

Brian passed away peacefully and quietly at the Royal Victoria Hospital with his wife Joanna and son Timothy by his side on Monday 27th February 2023.

Brian suffered a fall on Thursday afternoon and was scheduled for hip surgery. He died shortly before the surgery could take place.

He was 87 years old.

Brian started his travel career later in life at the age of 50 after being made redundant for a previous job. His passion for travel led him to start Crumlin Travel and alongside his wife Joanna, he spent 30 years in the business. He was added to the NI Travel & Tourism Awards Travel Role of Honour in 2015 for his continuous work for the travel trade.

Crumlin Travel’s Proprietor Tracie Duffy described Brian as “one of life’s true gentlemen”.

Brian will be sadly missed by his wife Joanna, his three sons Timothy, Oliver and Simon and by all who knew him.

Following a private family committal, a service of thanksgiving for Brian’s life will be held on Saturday 4th March 2023 in Glenavy Methodist Chruch at 12noon. Family folwers only.
