RCI Launches Time Saving Tool for Agent Bookings

Following the successful roll out of AirWaves to 6,500 agents across the UK and Ireland, RCL Cruises Ltd has launched new functionality, enabling agents to book up to four staterooms at a time on the platform

This increased functionality is in direct response to feedback from agents, who have been quick to embrace the new platform.

The new functionality will:

  • Save time – booking a party all at once will at least halve the time it would take to book cruise staterooms one by one
  • Secure price – as inventory is live, there has always been pressure to book consecutive bookings quickly to secure the same prices
  • Secure inventory – guests booking flights (or other inventory such as hotels/ transfers) can book all together, providing absolute clarity for all guests while building a package
  • Create ease of booking for families – guests with a multiple stateroom booking will receive one invoice for all guests in the package, not one invoice per stateroom, to show the total package booked

Agents can learn more about how to book up to four staterooms with the brand new ‘Try Me’ module or short video clips that are accessible via Cruising for Excellence and Club Learning on My Club Royal.

The fully integrated packaging solution, which enables bookings across Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises, has been developed in partnership with the three brands’ travel agent partners, who have been consulted regularly throughout the evolution of the platform.

AirWaves is a revolutionary booking platform that allows agents to dynamically book fly/cruise packages with greater ease, flexibility and security than ever before. The tool, was launched last November, following an extensive agent testing period, which was the largest agent collaboration project ever conducted by RCL Cruises Ltd in the UK ahead of a major launch.

Amanda Darrington, Sales Director, Royal Caribbean UK & Ireland said, “The success of this tool is evident in the level of adoption seen since its roll out in November, with usage up 30 per cent on its predecessor, Espresso. We are excited to roll out this new functionality and look forward to continuing to work with our agents. Our ambition is to make searching and booking our holidays quicker and easier than ever before.”
