Terence Murphy of Terra Travel was last year’s winner, taking home the top prize of two return tickets to anywhere on the Emirates’ route network.
His eventful experience in India in 1989, titled ‘Land of Mystery and Diversity’, saw him travel by steam engine from Delhi to Jammu, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur and Agra, stay on a 1930’s houseboat on the Dal Lake and experience an authentic Diwali festival dodging renegade rockets – before his fiancé (now wife) Gill took ill and had to have her appendix removed… after which she was promptly dropped by porters!
The winning feature each month will be hand-picked from the shortlisted entries and printed in Northern Ireland Travel News and feature on our website – providing a great opportunity to share your knowledge of travel with a wider audience!
All eight issue winners will be invited to attend a winners’ lunch in April/May 2019 where the overall winner will be announced.
All entries will be eligible for the weekly shortlisting process once submitted, so there’s no need to resend – they will automatically be re-entered each month AND you can also enter more than one destination feature – so get writing!
And this year agents are being offered the chance to enhance their entry by sending in video clips or vlogs along with their written submission – so get creative and you could win!

This gives Travel Agents the chance to share their experience and expertise with a wider audience. Last year the standard of entries was very high and it was tough to pick just eight finalists and one winner! We wish this year’s entrants all the best of luck in the competition.”
