Northern Ireland Travel News were treated to an intimate evening of songwriting, storytelling, and the sounds of Music City at the Duke of York, Belfast.
Hosted by the Nashville Convention and Tourism Corps, Northern Ireland Travel News’ Jonathan Adair and Erin English were in attendance alongside members of the Northern Irish Travel Trade.
Attendees were welcomed by Tryphavana Cross, Senior Account Director in Ireland for Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp, Laurel Bennett, Senior Vice President, Heather Middleton, Chief Marketing Officer, and Kristi Driver, Senior International Tourism Sales Manager at Opry Entertainment.
Celebrating Nashville’s sister city connection to Belfast, a traditional Nashville songwriting session arrived in The Duke of York with a performance from Ray Fulcher, one of Nashville’s most prominent songwriters. In the span of his music career, Ray Fulcher has penned songs for popular country artists such as Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, and Zach Brown Band.
The performance mirrored a traditional writer’s round concert in Nashville, with Ray Fulcher performing and lamenting on the personal anecdotes which have shaped some of his most popular songs, and explaining the stages of crafting a track, from inspiration to radio. Fulcher performed tracks which he penned for Luke Combs including, ‘Does to Me’, ‘Loving on You’, ‘Tell ‘Em About Tonight,’ and, ‘Going, Going, Gone,” and Cody Johnson’s 2026 ACM nominated hit, “The Fall.’
With a direct Aer Lingus service available from Dublin Airport, it has never been easier for Northern Irish holidaymakers to embark on their own adventure to Tennessee’s Music City. Aer Lingus operates a four-times weekly service from Dublin Airport to Nashville.
