Long-Time Supporter of Northern Ireland Travel Trade Inducted into Roll of Honour

Jet2holidays’ Travel Agent Relationship Director, Alan Cross, was inducted into the NI Travel Industry Roll of Honour at a glittering ceremony on Friday October 13

Jet2holidays’ Travel Agent Relationship Director, Alan Cross, was inducted into the NI Travel Industry Roll of Honour at the 31st Northern Ireland Travel & Tourism Awards, held in a glittering ceremony on Friday October 13 at the newly renovated Slieve Donard Hotel.

A well-known figure in the Northern Ireland Travel industry, Alan has been a supporter of the Northern Ireland Travel Trade, and especially the Northern Ireland Travel Agents, for over 30 years.

In that time, he has helped grow travel agents’ business through his many different roles, starting in 1992 with Easyres, and onto OAG, with a short term with NCL. His reputation grew until he was appointed, in 2008, to launch the Trade Sales team with a newly created position at Jet2holidays.

In fact this week is the anniversary of that appointment and the new operation 15 years ago.

Over the last 15 years, he has progressed from Head of Trade sales for the last 10 years until last year he was promoted to the newly created position of Travel Agent Relationship Director, in his words – a further commitment to the support of the independent travel agents.

His ethos has never changed in the support of local travel agents, with dedicated trade support at head office and on the ground in Northern Ireland.

Jet2holidays growth into the largest tour operator in Northern Ireland and this year the UK, has been led by the travel agents and the support created by Alan and his team.
