Line Up for National Travel Agent Day Revealed!

A wide range of companies from across the industry, including trade bodies, travel agents, tour operators, tourist boards and airlines, are expected to take part in the Virtual Appreciation Event

The UK’s first ever National Travel Agent Day is set to take place on Friday (July 24), celebrating the valuable role of travel agents and their extraordinary efforts during the Covid-19 crisis.

A wide range of companies from across the industry, including trade bodies, travel agents, tour operators, tourist boards and airlines, are expected to take part in the Virtual Appreciation Event.

Among the line-up will be interviews with travel agents about how they went above and beyond for their clients when travel was disrupted by the pandemic.  There will also be a Q&A with customers about why they value their travel agent, as well as video messages from a range of special guests.

In the afternoon will be quizzes, competitions and awards. Ahead of the day, Intrepid Travel is asking agents to share ‘above and beyond’ stories of their colleagues who went the extra mile for clients during the Covid-19 crisis.  Nominees will have the chance to win an Intrepid trip for two to Morocco.  Entries should be sent to UKPGM@intrepidtravel.com.

The day’s activities will be hosted on the Travel Gossip and Intrepid Loves Agents Facebook pages.

Intrepid Travel’s EMEA managing director Zina Bencheikh said: “The response to National Travel Agent Day from across the industry has been fantastic so far. We have a host of exciting plans for Friday and can’t wait to recognise and reward agents for the essential role they play in our industry.”
