Jet2holidays has established an industry leadership position in colleague health and safety, by becoming the only UK tour operator to be awarded certification for ISO 45001: 2018, the world’s first international standard for Occupational Health and Safety.
The certification has been awarded to the UK’s largest tour operator’s Risk and Safety Department, which is responsible for ensuring customer safety across thousands of hotels as well as tourist excursions and in-destination transfers.
With the Risk and Safety Department carrying out thousands of visits across Europe, the Mediterranean and Canary Islands every year, the certification demonstrates Jet2holidays’ commitment to maintaining the highest levels of health and safety standards for its colleagues, as well as promoting a positive safety culture.
The certification has been awarded to Jet2holidays after independent assessors from global safety assurance business, LRQA, carried out a number of detailed audits before a dedicated panel granted the certification.
ISO 45001:2018 has been developed as the world’s first international occupational health and safety management system standard which aims to prevent incidents at work. With a focus on mitigating risk and improving health and safety performance, ISO 45001:2018 helps companies focus on ensuring a safer working environment and a healthier workforce.
