Intrepid Travel Reaffirms Commitment Amid Restructure

Intrepid Travel has reaffirmed its commitment to the UK amid restructure

The adventure touring company has said the UK is key to its growth, all while doubling the size of its European base in Brixton and investing £1 million in EMEA during 2020.

This comes during a restructure that sees its Northern Hemisphere super region split into two.

Brett Mitchell was promoted to Chief Commercial Officer in October as part of the change and Michael Edwards, Intrepid’s Managing Director for Northern Hemisphere, has now left the business.

It has also resulted in changes to the Brixton-based marketing team, with both marketing director and another role being made redundant.

Intrepid’s UK sales are up 11% this year and have more than doubled since the company returned to independent ownership four years ago.

It has also taken a 40% stake in RAW Travel, a company specialising in tailor-made and self-guided walking adventures.

Although RAW is remaining independent, Intrepid co-founder Darrell Wade will join the RAW board.
