International Luxury Travel Market goes virtual

Tourism Ireland and partners take part in ILTM World Tour

Thirty-nine (39) tourism businesses from Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland are joining Tourism Ireland for the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) World Tour.

ILTM World Tour is a virtual event for the global luxury travel industry, which is taking place over three weeks. The event, which kicked off this week, involves a programme of bespoke one-to-one appointments and media briefings – with the tourism businesses from Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland meeting luxury travel buyers from Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region.

The aim is to showcase the island of Ireland to these influential luxury travel buyers, who design unique, luxury travel itineraries for their international clients. Tourism Ireland believes that, once the COVID crisis is past, luxury travel will be an area of opportunity for Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland.

Louise Finnegan, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Business Partnership, said: “Our participation in the ILTM World Tour is an excellent platform to promote the superb luxury tourism offering around the island of Ireland – from our boutique hotels, castles and luxury resorts, to our rich culture and heritage, and not forgetting our world-class golf and superb culinary scene.

“The format of virtual one-to-one appointments provides a really good opportunity for our partners from the island of Ireland to do business with luxury travel buyers from around the world. Our message for these buyers is that, when the time is right, we will have everything ready to welcome their international clients. We’ll be assuring them that tourism companies across the island of Ireland have been implementing all the required new health and safety measures – but will still be ready to deliver a fantastic luxury experience for their clients.”
