Industry Leader Brenda Morgan Set to Depart British Airways

Brenda Morgan is set to depart from British Airways on September 30

One of the best known figures locally in the airline business, Brenda Morgan, is set to depart from British Airways after nine years with the airline and over 28 years in the aviation industry.

Brenda will officially leave her role as Key Partnership Manager at British Airways on September 30, 2020.

Jonathan Adair of Northern Ireland Travel News said: “Brenda has always been a true partner to NI Travel News over the years, and instrumental to our development, through our media and event platforms.

“She has always been a huge supporter at all the major travel trade events across Northern Ireland, including bringing the British Airways flight simulator to The BIG Travel Trade event – a first for the travel industry in Northern Ireland.

“She was also instrumental in bringing James Nesbitt to host the 25th Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards.

“We hope she will still continue to pop in to the NI Travel News office for a coffee and a chat and look forward to seeing her continue to shine wherever her path may lead her in the future.”

Brenda has spent almost her whole working life in the aviation industry, principally with two of the UK’s leading airlines, British Midland (bmi) and British Airways.

She also took on a key role in the tourism industry, as the enthusiastic first Chairperson of the new Northern Ireland Tourism Alliance.

Brenda has a number of awards to her name, most notably an MBE, which she was awarded in 2016 for services to Economic Development in Northern Ireland.

She has also been the recipient of the NI Travel Industry Award and the Travel Travel Representative of the Year award at the Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards.

Speaking about her time working with the travel trade in Northern Ireland, Brenda said: “I have been so privileged to be part of this industry for over 28 years, what a journey it has been!

“I am honoured to be working in one of the greatest sectors, travelling the world on business near and far and one of the most important elements of all has been my travel family. We have worked together side by side through many challenging times and their resilience, dedication and professionalism has never diminished.

“Thank you all for your tremendous support to me over the years during my time with bmi and BA! Travel will rebound and I wish my industry friends and travel family health, luck and prosperity as soon as possible.”

Brenda was a massive supporter of the travel trade – always taking agents on the most wonderful fam trips to sample, first hand, the British Airways product.

The team at Northern Ireland Travel News are sure that Brenda will continue to lead the way and we wish her all the best for her future.
