Gold Medal, the flagship brand of dnata Travel Group UK B2B, have made new enhancements to their website which allows agents to access a brand-new technology training hub, service hub and marketing hub. Agents can also make the most of a newly configured and upgraded holidays funnel tool which allows them to search for and book holiday packages in just a few clicks. Agents are now also able to edit their commission prior to confirming a booking – a function that has been on the radar for many of the brand’s key agent partners.
Providing the very best service for their agents is a core focus for Gold Medal and this, of course, extends to their digital offering and their website. To ensure that all functionality improvements were driven by agent insight, the Digital Product team created group surveys, went on the road to visit agents, and gathered feedback from their agent partners. From there, a robust plan and roadmap was created to enhance the Gold Medal online booking website.
Digital Product Director, Jamie Greystock, shared,
“We have been working incredibly hard over the last 18 months to further enhance the Gold Medal website and bring agents some great new features. The main goal was, and continues to be, is creating an agent website, with agents. With their guidance, requests, and insight we will continue to build a functional tool that meets their needs. A lot of investment from both agents and our experienced team has allowed us to create something we are incredibly proud of and are excited to share.”
Greystock continued:
“The website now has the functions to support agents in creating the absolute best holidays for their customers wanting to book with Gold Medal, and offers an abundance of content and helpful tips for agents to follow.”
As part of Gold Medal’s Digital Discovery focus, agents who make an online booking through goldmedal.co.uk will have the chance to win one of three amazing prizes – £150, £250 or £500 in Farebank rewards until 31st July.
Edit Commission
One of the key enhancements to the Gold Medal website is the ability for an agent to increase or decrease their commission prior to booking. As it is at quote level, this is available for any individual components such as a flight only, hotel only, or holiday packages.
Giving agents the ability to edit their commission was something Greystock felt passionately about, he commented:
“When asking agents for their thoughts on what improvements we could make to
the website, the ability to edit commission came through strongly on multiple occasions. We have implemented this now successfully and it is a really simple step for agents to follow, I would encourage anyone who hasn’t already, to give it a go on their next online booking at goldmedal.co.uk.”
Technology Training Hub
The Technology training hub is the new home for training videos for agents. Quick and easy to follow, the videos contain top tips for agents on how to get the best use out of the site and have a better experience finding the perfect holiday. It also includes ‘how to’ videos detailing what support agents can get via the online hubs, including the new service hub and marketing hub.
Service Hub
The service hub is a dedicated area for post-booking support. Agents can submit requests and gain contact information for service teams, as well as access useful links to the latest official travel advice, airline information, terms and conditions, and much more.
Marketing Hub
On the marketing hub, agents will find everything they need to market their business and inspire travel, with collateral and campaigns from Gold Medal and their specialist brands – Pure Luxury, Cruise Plus and Incredible Journeys. From the latest offers to handy guides, destination and sale mini brochures, to social content.
Again, the team at Gold Medal have shared a wealth of handy tips and tricks via the online training videos on the technology training hub. With agents at the heart of all this development, Gold Medal have also created an insightful and easy-to-use 16-page digital booklet which highlights the updated website features and how to use them. The digital guide provides a how-to on all the tools they need for the easiest and most seamless booking experiences online.
Greystock continued:
“The Gold Medal and Agent collaboration initiative introduced last year has been a real force for change and we are continually building the ‘Digital Product Agent Community’ to work with and understand agent needs and requirements.”
The Digital Product Agent Community is a platform for agents to feed back their needs and requirements around the Gold Medal website offering. Agents who want to join the community can do so by getting in touch at websitefeedback@goldmedal.co.uk. Agents can also keep up to date with what is on dnata Travel Group B2B’s technology roadmap and new features being released by visiting the new and improved technology hub at https://www.goldmedal.co.uk/products/technology hub/.
