All five have enrolled on the Developing Managers Programme which will provide participants with an Advanced Diploma in Management Practice and comprises a 12-month programme including residential induction, a regional study visit and six study modules.
The five recipients are Anne Kyle, Managing Director, Love a Child Africa; Ciara Bailey, Assistant Store Manager, Rituals Cosmetics; Laura McCauley, Project Co-ordinator, RNIB NI; Shari Wilson, Office and Events Manager, Profile Publishing and Design Ltd; and Conal McQuaid, McQuaid Engineering, Dungannon.
Ronnie Matheson, Flybe’s Interim Chief Commercial Officer explains: “As the largest airline based at George Best Belfast City Airport providing convenient and competitively priced services to 13 destinations to the UK mainland every day, we are very committed to contributing to the regional economy and supporting the local communities we serve. The provision of these five bursaries for the Developing Managers Programme, added to the seven we gave last year, is a practical demonstration of our ongoing support of Northern Ireland plc.”
Janette Sheerman, Course Director and Senior Lecturer in Management Development, Business Institute at Ulster University Business School added: “To grow and sustain a successful business of any size, training and personal development must never stop. This newly refreshed programme addresses the opportunities and challenges presented by an ever-changing business environment. It equips participants with practical skills which they can apply to their organisations, straight away resulting in increased personal effectiveness and impact.
“We are very grateful for Flybe’s support through the provision of these new bursaries which has enabled a number of smaller organisations to avail of the programme.”
Based at the Ulster University’s Jordanstown campus, the participants will address six learning modules including, improving organisational performance; marketing; leadership practice; change management; the future of work and a management practice study visit. The Programme will run again in the Spring.
