Martina Coogan, United Airlines Sales Manager has released a statement for the travel trade

Statement from Martina Coogan, United Airlines Sales Manager in full below:

The last few weeks have been turbulent to say the least and I want to say thank you to the Travel Trade in Ireland for taking care of our mutual customers.

I know our policies are changing on a weekly and sometimes daily basis to react to the ever-changing landscape we have, and I apologise if sometimes it has been difficult to keep abreast.

While I understand you have many airline and travel partners to deal with, I just wanted to extend a sincere thank you for your patience, your loyalty and support.

I am not sure at this stage what operations we will continue from Dublin and Shannon and when we expect to resume to the new normal schedule, but I promise that United are committed to supporting and working with our trade partners. We will all have to pivot and change our expectations and KPI’s of what 2020 will look like from a business perspective.

Our trade and corporate relationships are crucial to United’s success in Ireland and this will be one thing that will not change following this crisis.
We look forward to being back in the Irish skies again and having passengers booked by our travel partners onboard.

In the meantime, some good news for you this week that should help you address some of your passengers concerns and questions.

United Airlines have made some key updates to our policies that will help the Travel Trade and their customers.

Our Change fee waivers, Tickets validity and ETC’s now extended to 24 months and some welcome news that Travel Agents are now able to process refunds via your GDS for cancelled services due to COVID-19 where your customers prefer this over a credit and previously having to wait 12 months to request a refund.
