COVID-19: Malta Launches a Travel Agent Webinar Training Programme

Malta Tourism Authority has unveiled a new travel agent training webinar programme

Malta Tourism Authority has unveiled a new travel agent training webinar programme comprised of eight themes – Maltese Islands, Adventure, Scuba Diving, Wellness, Luxury, Gastronomy, History and Weddings. Training commences in May 2020 with the planned webinar training sessions running until December 2020.

Agents can register via Malta’s online travel agent training platform to participate in an ‘Introduction’ and ‘Meet the Suppliers’ webinar sessions each month. The 30-minute Introduction webinars will be hosted by Malta Tourism Authority’s recently appointed Trade Trainer, Mimi Visheva. Mimi will share with agents’ information about the destination and its facilities, activities, and experiences tailored to the webinar themes. Agents can then tune in to meet the islands’ suppliers who will share information about their hotel or experience, as well as answer agents’ questions.

Natalie Swinburne, Trade Marketing Manager commented: “British travellers account for nearly a quarter of arrivals to Malta and UK travel agents play a vital role in the UK remaining our largest market. During this unprecedented time, we wanted to give agents the chance to refresh and gain new knowledge so that when Brits’ confidence in travel overseas returns they are best placed to sell Malta and the type of holidays that we see suiting physical distancing preferences in a new COVID-19 travel era.”

To attend a webinar agents should register via malta-training.com/webinars.
