China Airlines Appoints Aviareps as GSA in UK and Ireland

Aviareps, the global leader and expert in developing and shaping international tourism and aviation demand and spend, with 65 offices in 47 countries around the world, has been appointed, by China Airlines, the national carrier of the Republic of China (Taiwan, as General Sales Agent (GSA) for the airline in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland

The announcement, with immediate effect, will see Aviareps responsible for the airline’s sales promotions, marketing and public relations activities, as well as direct ticket sales, within the United Kingdom and Ireland.

On December 1, 2017 China Airlines introduced a new non-stop service between London Gatwick and Taipei’s Taoyuan International which is expected to not only drive travel demand from the UK and Ireland to Taiwan, but also provide excellent access, service and an alternative route for those travelling on to Australia, New Zealand and other Asian destinations within the China Airlines network.

“We’re incredibly excited to be returning to the UK this year, making travel between the UK and Taiwan that much more simple and accessible,” says Roger Han, Senior Vice President, Europe at China Airlines. He continues: “By offering the only non-stop service between these two countries, and by working with Aviareps as our GSA partner in the UK and Ireland, we hope to welcome and entice travellers who may not have previously considered Taiwan as their next outbound destination.”

The new flight schedule now operates four times per week from London Gatwick’s South Terminal with a flight time of just over 13 hours aboard China Airlines’ Airbus A350-900. With effect from March 26, 2018, a fifth weekly frequency (Tuesday) will be introduced to further compliment China Airlines’ network offering.

The aircraft will carry up to 306 passengers with a three class configuration, offering Premium Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.

China Airlines is the national carrier for the Republic of China (Taiwan), flying to almost 30 destinations across four continents. Rated a 4-star airline by Skytrax, China Airlines is based at Taipei’s Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and is a proud member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance.
