Belfast City Airport Needs Your Vote!

George Best Belfast City Airport has been shortlisted in the 'UK/Irish Airport of the Year' category at this year's TTG Travel Awards – the only Northern Irish airport to be nominated - and is asking the local travel trade to support its campaign

Named the UK and Ireland’s Most Convenient Airport and located only five minutes from Belfast City Centre, Belfast City Airport has recently seen a £15million investment into the terminal to provide passengers with 100% more seating, 30% retail choice and an extra 25% more choice of food and beverage outlets.

In addition, Belfast City Airport is one of the top ranked airports in the UK for PRM (passengers with reduced mobility) services, and one of the top three for punctuality. With an average security processing time of only six minutes and one of the shortest car-to-gate distances in Europe, Belfast City Airport aims to deliver an airport experience that exceeds expectations by putting the passenger at the forefront of operations.

Travel agent votes count for 50% of the final vote, so Belfast City Airport needs your support! By voting, you will also be in with the chance of winning a £50 Amazon voucher, courtesy of the TTG Travel Awards.

Ellie McGimpsey, Airline Development Manager at Belfast City Airport, commented: “It has been a very exciting year for Belfast City Airport so we’re thrilled to be nominated for the ‘UK/Irish Airport of the Year’ at this year’s TTG Awards, giving us the chance to represent the Northern Irish aviation industry on a national stage.

“Many of the enhancements to our facilities such as a free chilled water machine and the introduction of a business centre in the Departure Lounge are in direct response to customer feedback.

“Responding to this feedback coupled with ongoing investment from our owners and business partners will ensure we have a terminal facility that Northern Ireland can be proud of.”
