ANITA Ready for Travel Industry Day of Action – All You Need to Know if Attending

The Northern Ireland travel industry is ready to come out in force to support the UK-wide day of action tomorrow (June 23)

The Northern Ireland travel industry is ready to come out in force to support the UK-wide day of action tomorrow (June 23).

Damian Murphy from ANITA commented: “If you are free to join us at Stormont on Wednesday please come along and show your support as we gather to hand our message to the Executive in Stormont.

“We are asking people to gather on the steps of Stormont at 12 midday. Several MLAs have now told us they will join us to show support and to receive letters on behalf of our entire industry. We are asking for their support in getting foreign travel re-started and to urgently look at providing direct financial sector specific support to counter the effects their policy decisions have had on the travel sector.

“We will take as many photos/videos etc as we can and they will receive wide media coverage in the days immediately after. If you can join our twitter storm at 2pm using the hashtags #speakupfortravel and #traveldayofaction asking @borisjohnson to give sector specific support.

“Also feel free to bring banners etc #speakupfortravel. If you are approached by press or TV for a comment – please refer to the ANITA committee first – we want to make sure the agreed message goes out.

“The day should conclude by 1:30 and hopefully the Northern Ireland travel trade can play their part in getting this UK wide message out. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow – remember please be there for 12.”
