ANITA Ramp Up Pressure on Northern Ireland Executive

The Association of Northern Ireland travel agents has upped the intensity of their campaign

The Association of Northern Ireland travel agents has upped the intensity of their campaign by reaching out to the highest ranking ministers in the Stormont Executive.

The organisation, headed by Damian Murphy of Terra Travel and Richard Cooper from Carefree Travel, have been vocal for a while now in getting their case heard at the highest level.

“We have spoken with many MLAs and political representatives of late and indeed had a very productive meeting with Andrew Muir, Stewart Dickson and John Blair, MLAs from the Alliance party who have again brought our case up at executive level,” said Damian.

“We have just had confirmed a meeting on November 4 with First Minister, Deputy First Minister and Finance Minister who have agreed to personally listen to us and hopefully after hearing what we have to say, they will be in a better position to offer us some tailored support.

“Tracie Duffy from Crumlin Travel will also join us for the meeting and we invite anyone from within our sector who feels they have a point they would like brought up to get in touch with us. We have also joined the Keep Travel Alive campaign, a nationwide group helping to keep our industry to the fore at Westminister.

“We will continue to do whatever we can to help everyone involved the Travel Industry in Northern Ireland and we are very conscious of the urgency of this situation and are appealing to government to act now,” he added.
