ANITA Joins #savefuturetravel campaign to say WE need to hear from the Prime Minister on 22 February

Leaders from the Travel Industry came together on 17th Feb to urge the Prime Minister to present them with positive news on 22 February. ANITA were represented By Damian Murphy from Terra Travel who commented: “No industry needs positive news from the Prime minister more than the Travel Industry does- and once again we urge the Prime Minister to work with us on a roadmap to recovery and we hope this will be mentioned in his address to the nation on Monday.

“We know it’s too early for the government to provide a specific date for a return to travel until questions surrounding the vaccine rollout and pre departure testing are answered which will help restore full customer confidence in travel.

“We would certainly like to hear about the principles for restarting travel such as working with other countries to develop an internationally recognised vaccine certificate alongside a testing regime for those who cannot or prefer not to be vaccinated. We also once again call on the Northern Ireland Executive to provide a realistic financial support package to help our industry through until travel re-opens.

“ANITA have continued tirelessly in our efforts to get this moved forward and we are now dealing with the head of Northern Irelands civil service Jenny Pyper to try and agree a realistic support package. We are calling on her department to act now to bring forward help urgently needed for our industry.

“As part of the Save Future Travel Coalition we are all looking forward to brighter times ahead.”
