ANITA Calls for Support for Travel Industry Day of Action

The UK travel industry will unite on June 23 in a day of action to highlight the current difficulties they face and the Association of Northern Ireland Travel Agents (ANITA) are calling on you to lend your support.

Damian Murphy from ANITA said: “We are calling on everyone who is involved in the industry here to support this day of action.  There are various ways of doing this such as emailing your MLA/MP on this day- arrange a meeting with them to discuss the help required or to attend here or in London one of the planned events.

“We are asking the government to allow International travel to return safely and in a risk managed way by properly implanting the Global Travel Taskforces plan and we are asking them to bring forward a package of tailored financial support to recognise that our ability to trade and therefore generate income will be much slower than first anticipated and way more gradual than for businesses in the domestic economy.

“We will try and contact as many people as possible in the next few days to update them on whats going on and we simply ask everyone to try and do something no matter how small to help gain our cause further recognition.”
